Junior Year {A Reflection}

What a crazy year.  There were ups, and downs.  There were late nights, and early mornings.  There were happy days, and sad ones.  There were bad grades, and good ones.  Chemistry may have been harder than I could have ever imagined (the grade I received on my final proves just that) but I made it.  Thank you junior year.  You treated me well.

Every school year starts out with cheer, and the football season of my junior year was one to remember.  With a new coach and rowdy seniors in charge the season was nothing short of a whirlwind, filled with chaos and screaming.  Girls would lash out during games and the coach was a child.  I still had fun because I was able to cheer on Friday nights for the first time as a Varsity cheerleader.  Soon after the season the coach was fired for getting into a fight with one of our seniors.
As our cheer coach for basketball season was up in the air life was good.  My grades are decent, although not exactly where I wanted them.  I had let my GPA "slip" to a 3.7. I use quotations because I realize to some that may be a very good GPA, and it is, but I expect more from myself.  Life with my boyfriend was well, although the amount of homework I had was over whelming.

Basketball season had came out of nowhere and luckily we were placed with the best coach who was hired on as the head coach for this year. (and I could not be happier about it!) But one of my best friends and I were named as captains of the Varsity cheer team.  I forgot to mention that our seniors had quit leaving us with a four person Varsity cheer team.  I received Most valuable cheer leader at the end of basketball season and was so very honored.

After basketball season the school year flew by.  Before I knew it, it was time for finals.  And school was over.   Thanks to the help of my AP classes, I brought my GPA up to a 3.8.  I cannot wait for senior year, although it is scary, I believe I am ready.  Here's to the summer.

What's in my Bag {Madewell Transport Tote}

This bag changed my life.  I may or may not get called a mom every time I carry it around my friends but they don't complain when I pull out something they end up needing! I purchased this bag in preparation for the traveling I had done this spring and it was a life saver!  It carries literally everything I need and more! Definitely worth the money that you pay.

The contents of my purse are NOT limited to this picture.  My purse is always filled with everything from an extra outfit to my beats headphones.  I also have plenty of bobby pins and extra hair ties.  Whatever lipstick color I'm wearing that day will also be found in my purse!

What do you keep in your purse?

Styling Sneakers with Dresses

Happy Friday y'all! Every morning I'm one day closer to being a senior.  That scares me but I know next year has many surprises and good times ahead.  Tomorrow is my high school's graduation and I will be attending that to help.  The rest of my weekend should consist of studying for finals, but that probably won't happen.

Today's post is an outfit that is super cute and comfy.  The most important words when it comes to dressing for school.  Honestly my favorite shoe to style with dresses are keds.  They are so versatile and cute.  They literally go with everything, even if they do like kind of mom-ish.  They just add a super cute touch to a nice or casual outfit!

Old Navy always has the cutest dresses, and they're always my go-to outfits! What is your ideal go-to outfit?

A Day in My Life {Saturday May 7, 2016}

Hello wonderful people! I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend.  Junior year is still crazy.  There is only 14ish days of school left, and I couldn't be happier.  Summer means working at the pool, lots of cheer practice, and quality blog posts! Also lots of summer sun!

So these first few pictures are from a barn sale I attended, it was so much fun! My sister actually got married at the location of this sale and it was awesome to go back.  I might have found my new favorite company. Farmhouse Frocks is a company whose clothes are all made by Amish women and they're oh so cute.  You can find them HERE!

As mothers day is today I thought that this chalkboard was super cute.  There were PLENTY of awesome chalk boards drawn up and they gave me inspiration for my own lettering.

Just a quick pic I snapped of all of the hustle and bustle in the barn!

So after our barn sale, I went home and relaxed.  Waking up early really takes a toll on me! Later that night my boyfriend and I decided to head on downtown for some dinner, we aren't really the type for fancy food so our favorite hotdog place is where we ate.  If you're ever in Columbus you MUST try out Dirty Franks!

Just my luck that right next to dirty franks is my most favorite cupcake shop.  There used to be two but the one closer to me shut down.  Now I have to drive out to the city for cupcakes and Thai Iced Teas.  But it is definitely worth it!

What did you do yesterday?

Pre-Prom Prep {A Checklist}

Oh, thank you AP language for making me learn all of my rhetorical devices.  Anyone catch that alliteration in the title(;  My prom is FRIDAY! This will be my first year at prom and I'm very excited.  I revealed a picture of my dress on my last Friday favorites post, you can check it out here. I've been doing a lot to prepare for prom and I know my prom was early.  Today I thought I would share what I think you should do to get ready for prom!

Now I know some people don't really like to tan and I totally think spray tans are awesome.  You just want to have a little bit of color, even if you use a self-tanner! Don't want to look washed out.  I can't wait for my prom and you'll definitely be seeing some more posts this week about prom!

Are you going to prom? What are you most excited about?

Friday Favorites

This week sure has flown by.  I was lucky enough to have Monday off, but as the day went on I just wasn't feeling well.  By Tuesday I was so congested and stayed home from school.  My day was spent watching the new season of 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' which is definitely a favorite of mine! Today when I woke up my voice was completely gone! This weekend will be spent at Justice, out at the pig pen and getting ready for prom!

{Anthropologie}
This is always a favorite of mine, although not a favorite of my wallet.  Everything there is so effortlessly chic and looks so together while being different.  We went in the other day and everything is set up for spring, and I was in love!

{My Prom Dress}
AHHH! It's a week away,  and this upcoming weeks posts are going to be all about prom, so be ready for that! I decided to post my full dress! Its a Sherri Hill dress and I'm in love.  It is at the seamstress right now and I can't wait to get it back.  I'm going to be rocking some Kendra Scott with it too!!

{Hand Lettering}
My sisters and I (AH I have two sisters now, my eldest brother got married!) took a lettering class on Sunday and it was so much fun.  This week in my spare time that is all I have been doing, I hope to keep improving my skills!

{Done by yours truly!}
